DI Chicago attends ‘Summer Spectacular Boat Cruise’.

Depo International Chicago was delighted to attend the Illinois Paralegal Association’s ‘Summer Spectacular Boat Cruise’ aboard the vessel “Chicago’s First Lady”.  It was a beautiful night to cruise on Lake Michigan, enjoying great food and the amazing Chicago skyline scenery while networking with Chicago’s paralegal professionals.  Thank you to the Illinois Paralegal Association for organizing this event and CT for sponsoring.  We look forward to next year!

The Illinois Paralegal Association has been active in the Chicago community since 1973, when it was officially incorporated as an Illinois not for profit.  Better known at the time as CAPA, the organization actually formed a couple years prior to it’s official incorporation, when a group of paralegals met to discuss the future of the legal industry in 1971.

Today, the Illinois Paralegal Association exists to: promote communication among it’s members, inform members of developments in the legal field, provide for the continuing education of paralegals and promote the paralegal profession.

In conjunction with their purpose, the Illinois Paralegal Association offers and coordinates a Mentoring Program for newly hired paralegals.  In this program, a newly hired paralegal is paired with a senior paralegal (working in the same practice field) for a 3 month period.  In addition to both Mentor and Mentee being members of the Illinois Paralegal Association, this is a great way to foster two way learning and grow a network!
